It became pretty apparent in my late teens I wasn't going to make it in the NHL. My backup plan was to become a Mountie just like my dad. Somewhere down the road, I went to journalism school and never looked back. My first gig was as a morning man at a community radio station in New Brunswick. That led me to some general reporting for a local TV station just outside Ottawa. While I enjoyed general news, my true passion was sports. I got an opportunity to work for RDS covering the Ottawa Senators and other sporting events in the Nation's Capital. I then made the biggest decision of my career and switched to English working for the New RO as a sports anchor/reporter. As it turns out, my time at the New RO was a spring board for Sportsnet.
I know this is going to sound cliche, but covering sports is probably the best job one could have. I have heard a thousand times that I have a dream job and it's true. I get to cover the Montreal Canadiens, one of the most storied franchises in the history of the NHL, as well as a plethora of other fantastic sporting events.
Thomas Edison "I never worked a day in my life. It was all fun". It sure has felt that way in my time with Sportsnet.
