Ronda Rousey throws more shade at Mayweather

Dana White got the crowd going when he declared that UFC fighter Ronda Rousey would "badly hurt" boxer Floyd Mayweather in a street fight.

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey convincingly won the latest round of her ongoing feud with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Earlier this month, Mayweather took a jab at Rousey in an interview, telling ESPN: “I’ve yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes. When she can do that, then call me.”

In an interview with TMZ, Rousey fired back.

“[Mayweather] said, ‘You make $300 million a night, then you can give me a call’… and I actually did the math and given the numbers of my last fight, I’m actually the highest paid UFC fighter and I’m a woman,” Rousey said. “I think I actually make 2-3 times more than he does per second…so when he learns to read and write, he can text me.”

The rivalry between the two biggest stars in combat sports has been ongoing since Rousey emerged as a UFC superstar in 2013.

Rousey was named Best Fighter at the ESPY Awards earlier this summer and had some harsh words for her fellow nominee.

“I can’t help but really say that I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” Rousey said on the red carpet at the event. “I’d like to see him pretend to not know who I am now.”

Mayweather responded to that comment by saying, “A while back I didn’t know who Ronda Rousey was, so I’m pretty sure she got upset.”

The 48-0 boxer is set to fight Andre Berto on Sept. 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It’s Mayweather’s final fight on his contract and the 38-year-old says it will be his last pro fight. Meanwhile, Rousey (12-0) is preparing to fight Holly Holm at UFC 195 on Jan. 2 at the same venue as Mayweather-Berto.
