Kyle Dubas is so young…

(This is where you all say “How young is he?!”)

He’s so young that if he were made Leafs GM next week he’d be just a shade under half the average age the NHL’s current crop of general managers. Fact. Now, that’s not likely to happen (but really, would that surprise anyone at this point?), but it wouldn’t be wise to bet against Dubas being a GM someday, even someday relatively soon. So let’s put the now-famously young front office whiz kid in context with today’s GMs by noting how old Dubas was when each current GM was hired. And not hired in their first-ever NHL job, which Dubas just landed—hired in their current NHL job. The result? Well, Lou Lamoriello has been running the show in Jersey since Dubas was in diapers. No wonder Dubas’ age has become a big deal.
