Blue Jays longest-ever games

Jon Blacker/CP

Part of the beauty of baseball is that it bows to no clock. Those nine innings take as long as they takes, and if more time is needed to find a winner, so be it. Generally the whole thing runs about three hours, sometimes longer. Sometimes—like Sunday’s Blue Jays vs Tigers game at the Rogers Centre—it takes way, way longer. The longest game in Blue Jays history, it took over six-and-a-half hours to get to Jose Bautista’s winning swing of the bat. That’s the best part—unlike other Jays marathon matches, when the dust (finally) settled on this one, Toronto won.
