Alright, so it looks like it’s on again. Just when you were emotionally ready to accept that—yes, finally, once and for all—the season was lost, the Blue Jays up sweep a series and give you cruel, cruel hope. So here we are, squinting our eyes at the remaining schedule in hopes of making it look more likely to allow the Bluebirds to squeak into the playoffs. For those with their rally caps on, we applaud your optimism, because a look at what’s left for the teams still in the wild card race, and at how they’ve fared so far against the teams they’ll be facing in the weeks to come, suggests that the Jays may keep things interesting until the end, but disappointment will, as ever, win the day.
