MLB Commissioner: Meet the new boss

(Ricardo Arduengo/AP)

“Commissioner of Baseball” is a great title. It’s got a real 1920’s–era ring of power about it, like the holder of the title is a key member of Herbert Hoover’s cabinet or something. It’s the “Postmaster General” of sports job names. And now, after 22 years of Bud Selig’s commissionership (yes, that’s the word for his term of office), it’s time for a new Commissioner of Baseball to step in and take the throne. Let’s take a moment to meet the new boss, look back on the old boss and ponder the history office itself.
