BRIDGETOWN, Barbados -- Left-arm swing bowler Krishmar Santokie took a hat trick and claimed 4-13 as Jamaica booked its passage in the semifinals of the Caribbean Twenty20 cricket competition with an eight-wicket victory over The Netherlands on Friday.
In Friday's second game, Barbados, which had already qualified for the final four, romped to its fourth straight win in the competition by beating Combined Campuses and Colleges by nine wickets with half its overs to spare.
In the opening game, Eric Szwarcynski (44) and Stephan Myburgh (31) gave the Netherlands' innings a decent platform before Jamaica claimed the last six wickets for only six runs.
Santokie grabbed only the third hat-trick in regional Twenty20 history, removing Szwarcynski with the final ball of his third over and Mudassar Bukhari and Timm van der Gugten with the first two balls of his fourth.
Szwarcynski lofted to long-off, while Bukhari and van der Gugten were bowled.
Jamaica's left-arm spinner Nikita Miller also took 3-22 to halt the early Dutch charge.
Jamaica had little bother in racing to its target with 16 balls to spare.
Opener Nkrumah Bonner top scored with 35 while Marlon Samuels and Shawn Findlay guided their side home with an unbeaten stand of 51.
In the second game, Barbados skittled Combined Campuses & Colleges for just 76 off 20 overs and raced to victory at 81-1 off just 10 overs.
The hosts dominated from the outset as West Indies pacer Fidel Edwards rattled the CCC with a fiery new ball burst that earned him 2-19 and helped reduce the CCC to 10-4 in the fourth over.
The Barbadian spinners stifled the middle order despite a stand of 38 for the fifth wicket between Floyd Reifer and Yannick Ottley. Three run outs also undermined the CCC effort.
Barbados lost an early wicket but captain Kirk Edwards and Kevin Stoute added 74 unbroken off 57 balls as Barbados won easily.
Saturday's semifinals feature Jamaica against Windward Islands followed by Barbados against Trinidad & Tobago.
