SYDNEY, Australia — Captain Angelo Mathews was 35 not out and Kusal Janith Perera added 33 runs to lead Sri Lanka to a five-wicket Twenty20 win over Australia despite David Warner’s unbeaten 90 from 62 balls in the home side’s innings.

Sri Lanka stumbled at 104-5 but eventually cruised to victory at 139-5 with seven balls to spare before 40,242 fans on Australia Day at Sydney Football Stadium.

Thisara Perera (19 off 12) brought up the win with consecutive sixes. Warner was let down badly by his fellow batsmen as Australia, 137-3, set a meek target. Adam Voges added 25 runs for Australia.
