Homan downs Scotland at curling worlds

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Canada’s Rachel Homan improves to 6-1 at the women’s world curling championship with an 8-3 win over Scotland on Tuesday.

Homan and her Ottawa Curling Club scored two in the first and third ends and stole single points in the eighth and ninth. The Scots shook hands after nine ends.

Canada defeated Latvia 8-4 earlier in the day.

The top four teams at the conclusion of the round robin Thursday advance to playoffs.

The Canadians take on Germany and South Korea on Wednesday.
