Former Brier and world champion curler Richard Hart is coming out of retirement and will rejoin Glenn Howard’s rink, Sportsnet’s Rob Faulds is reporting.

Hart played as a third for Howard’s rink from 2000-2011, where he picked up a number of accolades including the 2007 Brier and world championship. The 45-year-old also won a silver medal for Canada in the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games as part of Mike Harris’s rink.

The Toronto native first retired in 2011.

In addition to the Hart news, Howard’s rink is also bringing on Jon Mead at second. A two-time Brier champion and 2011 world champion, Mead spent last season as Jeff Stoughton’s third.

Howard’s lead for the past 10 years, Craig Savill will remain in his role with the team.
