Scott steals win from Sivertson at BC Scotties

Six-time provincial champ Kelly Scott scored three points in the eighth end and stole four in the ninth to beat Dailene Sivertson 11-8 Thursday night during B-side action at the Scotties B.C. Women’s Curling Championship presented by Best Western.

Sivertson, from Victoria, broke a 2-2 tie with a five-ender in the fifth end. Scott earned a deuce in six and Sivertson settled for one in the seventh before Scott’s Kelowna team mounted the comeback.

Elsewhere in Maple Ridge, B.C., defending champion Kesa Van Osch of Nanaimo is now facing elimination after falling to the C-side following a 9-4 loss to Kristy Lewis from Nanaimo.

Earlier Thursday, Patti Knezevic of Prince George reached the A qualifier match with an 8-3 win over Scott. Team Knezevic scored three in the seventh to snap a 3-3 tie and added single steals in eight and nine.

Knezevic will meet Victoria’s Sarah Wark, who scored three in the final end to edge Lewis.
