Is it just me or would adding another outstanding Canadian to an already talented baseball team make 2013 even better? At the age of 31, first baseman Justin Morneau would be a great player for the Toronto Blue Jays. Despite last season having surgery on his left wrist, he feels fully healed and ready to go. The 2006 AL MVP has lots to offer, he has 10 years played, also hitting a total of 204 career home runs, and 786 RBIs.
Morneau has said in the past that he was a Blue Jays fan as a kid. If the trade was to happen soon or if the team is close to the playoff race, adding his bat to their lineup would just create many positives. He is a true Canadian, always representing Team Canada at the World Baseball Classic and making this country very proud.
It’s been 20 years since the Blue Jays last made the playoffs and this is the year I feel they need to do all they can. Adam Lind and him could switch so both could equally have rest and this would give the Jays three quality first basemen. If Lind struggles, the addition of Morneau would be great because you would be getting an awesome first baseman.

Morneau can also fill in at DH, leading to even more runs. After 10 seasons with the Minnesota Twins, a change of scenery is just what he needs. In a star studded lineup and to be back in his home country, this would just make his season and the Blue Jays that much better and exciting.
