MONTREAL CANADIENS 0 @ TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS 2

Goaltending match-up: Carey Price (16/18, .889 SV%) vs. James Reimer (32/32). Reimer had three shutouts in 35 starts in his rookie season.

Scratches: Betts, Emelin

Top PP times: Plekanec (6:02), Cammalleri (5:33), Subban (5:32), Desharnais (4:58), Gionta (4:10)

Trending: Chris Campoli (11:05 TOI) left this game injured.

Combos: Joffrey Lupul - Tyler Bozak - Phil Kessel/ Matt Frattin - Mikhail Grabovski - Nikolai Kulemin/ Dave Steckel - Pascal Dupuis - Colby Armstrong/ Jay Rosehill - Matthew Lombardi - Mike Brown/ Dion Phaneuf - Carl Gunnarsson/ John-Michael Liles - Luke Schenn/ Mike Komisarek - Jake Gardiner

Scratches: Franson, MacArthur, Orr

Top PP times: Liles (4:55), Phaneuf (4:33), Kessel (4:05), Lupul (4:05), Bozak (3:59)

Trending: Matthew Lombardi's (1G, +1, no PP, 2 SOG) long road back to action kicked off with a SHG tonight, which was his first since '08-9. He had a career high 53 points in his last full NHL season, which was '09-10 with Phoenix. Dion Phaneuf (1G, 1A, +2, 3 SOG) will be bringing his blend of PIM/ SOG to standard league poolies this year and hopefully with more points this time around too. Great start here. Phil Kessel (1A, +1, 2 SOG) had amassed 23 points in 29 GP vs. MON coming in here, including 5-2-7 in 6 GP last season. Joffrey Lupul (1A, +1, 4 SOG) had 18 points in his 28 GP with TOR last season after having 13 in 26 with ANH.

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS 2 @ BOSTON BRUINS 1

Goaltending match-up: Ilya Bryzgalov (22/23, .957 SV%) vs. Tim Thomas (27/29, .931 SV%)

Combos: James van Riemsdyk - Claude Giroux - Jaromir Jagr/ Jakub Voracek - Danny Briere - Wayne Simmonds/ Scott Hartnell - Sean Couturier - Matt Read/ Andreas Nodl - Max Talbot - Zac Rinaldo/ Matt Carle - Chris Pronger/ Kimmo Timonen - Andrej Meszaros/ Braydon Coburn - Andreas Lilja

Scratches: Walker, Shelley

Top PP times: Pronger (2:49), Giroux (2:41), Jagr (2:34), Meszaros (2:34), Simmonds (2:24)

Trending: Jaromir Jagr (1A, 2 SOG) made his Flyers debut tonight and picked up his 1600th career point on Philly's first goal in the process. He had 89 points in 67 career GP vs. BOS before tonight. Claude Giroux (1A, 2 PIM, 4 SOG) will be looking to challenge the point-per-game mark this year after tallying 76 in 82 last season. Chris Pronger (1A, 2 SOG, 5 BS) entered this one 14 points shy of the 700 in his career. Wayne Simmonds' (1A, +1, 4 PIM, 3 SO)G owners will happily take any top-six and PP1 action, as an increase in points would complement his PIM/ hit totals. Jakub Voracek (1G, +1, 1:47 PP, 2 SOG) comes into this season having posted 50 and 46-point campaigns with Columbus in the past two years.

Combos: Milan Lucic - David Krejci - Nathan Horton/ Brad Marchand - Patrice Bergeron - Rich Peverley/ Jordan Caron - Chris Kelly - Tyler Seguin/ Daniel Paille - Gregory Campbell - Shawn Thornton/ Zdeno Chara - Johnny Boychuk/ Andrew Ference - Joe Corvo/ Matt Bartowski - Dennis Seidenberg

Scratches: McQuaid, Pouliot

Top PP times: Bergeron (6:34), Corvo (5:52), Marchand (4:51), Seguin (4:31), Horton (4:14)

Trending: Brad Marchand (1G, 2 PIM, 4 SOG) had 19 points in 25 GP last spring as the Bruins went on that Cup run. Joe Corvo (1A, 1 SOG) should be able to post another 40-point campaign, but this time with a strong +/-. Tyler Seguin (1A, 3 SOG) had five points in his first eight games last season, but tallied just 22 overall in his rookie campaign.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS 4 @ VANCOUVER CANUCKS 3 (SO)

Goaltending match-up: Marc-Andre Fleury (33/36, .917 SV%) vs. Roberto Luongo (25/28, .893 SV%)

Combos: Steve Sullivan - Evgeni Malkin - James Neal/ Chris Kunitz - Jordan Staal - Tyler Kennedy/ Matt Cooke - Mark Letestu - Pascal Dupuis/ Craig Adams - Joe Vitale - Arron Asham/ Zbynek Michalek - Paul Martin/ Deryk Engelland - Kris Letang/ Matt Niskanen - Ben Lovejoy

Scratches: Park, Orpik, MacIntyre

Top PP times: Letang (2:09), Malkin (1:48), Sullivan (1:42), Martin (1:32), Kunitz (1:32)

Trending: Evgeni Malkin (1A, -1, 2 PIM, no SOG) owners are hoping for and should receive a huge season. Same goes for Kris Letang (2A, +1, 2 PIM, 1 SOG). James Neal (1G, -1, 0:54 PP, 3 SOG) had but one goal in his 20 games with the Pens before the playoffs, but this year should be a different ballgame. PIT fans will see why his nickname is Real Deal Neal. The guy's legit. Jordan Staal (1A, 0:58 PP, 3 SOG) should also enjoy a successful campaign and he stands an excellent chance of challenging his career-best mark of 49 points, which he posted in both his third and fourth seasons. Matt Cooke (2G, +1, 0:16 PP, 2 SOG) had 12 goals all of last year and had seasons of 31, 30 and 30 points with the Pens coming into this one. No reason to think you need to add him tonight after this multi-pointer, unless your league is really deep and awards extra points for bad on-ice judgment. Shootout: Letang, Malkin

Combos: Daniel Sedin - Henrik Sedin - Alexandre Burrows/ Marco Sturm - Cody Hodgson - Mikael Samuelsson/ Chris Higgins - Manny Malhotra - Jannik Hansen/ Aaron Volpatti - Maxim Lapierre - Dale Weise/ Dan Hamhuis - Kevin Bieksa/ Sami Salo - Alexander Edler/ Chris Tanev - Keith Ballard

Scratches: Ebbett, Alberts, Sulzer

Top PP times: Edler (3:06), D. Sedin (2:49), H. Sedin (2:48), Samuelsson (2:48), Burrows (2:48)

Trending: Ho hum. Another game, another multi-pointer from the Sedins. Daniel Sedin (1G, 1A, +1, 5 SOG) will be looking for back-to-back 100-point campaigns if possible, while Henrik Sedin (2A, +2, 1 SOG) can make it three in a row with at least 94 and two career 100-pointers if he can accomplish that monster task this time around. Keith Ballard (1G, +1, no PP, 3 SOG) had a disappointing 2-5-7 last season, so he shouldn't have a problem raising the bar this time around. Sami Salo (1A, +1, 4 SOG) had 3-4-7 in his only 27 GP last season and his GP is always his most important stat. The key notes for the power play early on are what we've been told to expect... Mikael Samuelsson on the point with Alex Edler and Alexandre Burrows actually seeing some PP1 minutes. Shootout: nobody scored
