MONTREAL – Injuries are piling up for the Montreal Alouettes, who announced Thursday that receiver Kenny Stafford was placed on the six-game injured list with a fractured big toe.

"His injury won’t require surgery, but is significant enough that he will be out of the lineup for an extended period of time," the team said in a statement.

Stafford was injured in a 28-13 loss at home last week to the Ottawa Redblacks. In the same game, star receiver S.J. Green suffered a season-ending knee injury and running back Tyrell Sutton also picked up a lower body injury that saw him put on the six-game list.

As well, slotback Duran Carter was hit with a one-game suspension for jostling Redblacks coach Rick Campbell.

The Alouettes are on a bye week. Their next game is July 15 at home against Hamilton.
