CALGARY -- Stampeders quarterback Henry Burris is out of the lineup for at least two weeks with a dislocated left shoulder.

He sustained the injury to his non-throwing shoulder in Saturday's 24-20 loss in Hamilton when he fell out of bounds during the final minute of play and Tiger-Cats linebacker Zeke Moreno landed on him.

Burris underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on Saturday, but the CFL club waited until Tuesday to reveal how long the quarterback would be sidelined.

"It all comes from rehabilitation now and we're going to be getting after it day and night," Burris said.

The 32-year-old leads the CFL in touchdown passes with 26 and was named the CFL's top offensive player for the month of August.

He will miss Saturday's game in Vancouver against the Lions and will also sit out the Oct. 8 game at home against Saskatchewan.

Stampeders coach Tom Higgins said Burris's status will be week-to-week after two weeks.

Backup quarterback Akili Smith has been used sparingly this season. He's completed 12 of 26 passes for 132 yards and has been intercepted five times.

The Stampeders sit third in the Western Division one point back of Saskatchewan and four points back of leader B.C. The Edmonton Eskimos trail Calgary by two points.
