The Toronto Argonauts have made an offer to free-agent quarterback Dave Dickenson, according to a report from Vancouver radio station CKNW.

According to the station, the Argonauts made a formal offer on Monday morning.

The free-agent quarterback admitted to CKNW that he has several offers from CFL clubs and plans to make a decision soon.

CKNW said that Dickenson was in Toronto last week and met with a concussion specialist and was given clearance to keep playing. He reportedly met with the Argos whie in Toronto.

The veteran quarterback was released by the B.C. Lions Nov. 26 after a successful but injury-plagued career in Vancouver.

He led the Lions to the 2006 Grey Cup title and was named the championship game's outstanding player.

But the five-foot-11, 195-pound Dickenson, who signed with B.C. as a free agent in 2003 after an unsuccessful bid to play in the NFL, has proven to be brittle at football's most important position.

He suffered his third concussion in less than two years last season. In 2005 he was out with ankle sprains in addition to a concussion. In 2004 he missed 10 games with a knee injury.

The Lions finished first in the West Divsion four times as Dickenson went 33-14 as a starter.
