The Edmonton Eskimos have fired offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Rick Worman and replaced him with Kevin Strasser, the club’s senior offensive consultant, the team announced Wednesday.
"I felt a move was necessary because of philosophical differences in the direction we were taking with our offence," said Eskimos head coach Richie Hall. "I thank Rick for his contributions and wish him the best in the future."
Strasser, who got his start in the pro ranks as a receivers coach with the Eskimos in 2000 – 2001, spent five seasons with the Montreal Alouettes (2002-’06).
In 2005 as the Als’ offensive coordinator, Strasser guided a potent Montreal offence that led the CFL in points scored (592) and passing yards (5,556).
The former Oregon State receiver spent the last two years as the receivers coach with the Portland State Vikings.
