Fresh off their first home victory of the season, the Toronto Argonauts are about to welcome home their most valuable player from last season.

Sportsnet has learned running back/returner Dominique Dorsey, who was voted the Canadian Football League Special Teams Player of the Year in 2008, will re-join the Argos Tuesday.

Dorsey signed with the Washington Redskins of the National Football League in the off-season.

He exercised the two-month window that allows CFL option-year players to sign with a National Football League team. Under an NFL rule implemented this year, any CFL option-year player released by a NFL team had a maximum of 10 days to find employment with another NFL team, after which he had to return to his CFL team.

The Argos are in dire need of Dorsey's services because the team has lacked a quality returner in his absence.

It's believed Dorsey has a contract that paid him roughly $10,000 a game, which would mean he stands to collect $80,000 for the final eight games of the season.
