According to the Calgary Sun, Stampeders kicker Sandro DeAngelis had a tryout with the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.

DeAngelis owns a career succcess rate of 84 per cent in five seasons with the Stampeders, including a 42-for-49 mark this past season. The 28-year-old traveled to Dallas on Friday to audition in front of head coach Wade Phillips and owner Jerry Jones at the team's practice facility

"I'm pleased with [the audition], but you really have no idea what they're thinking. They don't exactly jump up and down or anything so you don't have a gauge of where you stand," DeAngelis said in the report. "I'll keep my fingers crossed."

The Cowboys are looking to fill its kicking void for 2010 after Nick Folk and Canadian Shaun Suisham were successful on just 64.5 per cent of their attempts in 2009. DeAngelis told the Sun that he expects to hear back from the Cowboys next week.

"I just want to give it my best shot. If I make it to the NFL, great. If I don't, hey that's great too because I'm very happy in the CFL," DeAngelis told the Sun.
