Austin named Cornell coach
January 27, 2010

ITHACA, NEW YORK -- Kent Austin is a head football coach again.
The former Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach was introduced as the new head coach at Cornell University. Austin had spent the last two seasons as the offensive co-ordinator at the University of Mississippi, his alma mater.
Austin replaces Jim Knowles, who resigned Dec. 23 after posting a 26-34 record over six seasons. Austin takes over a program that had a 2-8 record last year and last won an Ivy League title in 1990.
Austin left for Ole Miss after leading the Roughriders to the Grey Cup in 2007. He also earned a CFL title as the Riders quarterback in 1989 and was the Toronto Argonauts offensive co-ordinator when they won a Grey Cup in 2004.
