Already with two quarterbacks on the roster yet to take a snap in the CFL, the Toronto Argonauts have been negotiating with former Miami Dolphins starter Cleo Lemon to bring the 30-year-old north.

A source told Sportsnet that discussions have been going well to sign the former Arkansas State pivot, who had his best success in Miami, while also spending time with Baltimore and Jacksonville during a seven-year NFL career.

Lemon started the final game of the Dolphins 2006 season, after playing well in relief the previous two weeks. He started seven games, mainly during the middle of the 2007 campaign, and was a back-up in Jacksonville in 2008.

Since cutting their entire quarterback corps from last season over the past month, the Argonauts have since traded for Dalton Bell, a No. 3 in Saskatchewan last year, and signed Gibran Hamdan, formerly a back-up with the Buffalo Bills.
