The Edmonton Eskimos are moving closer to hiring a general manager and it appears that Eric Tillman is the favourite according to sportsnet.ca sources.
The successor to Danny Maciocia will likely happen within the next two weeks, possibly even sooner in the wake of their second consecutive loss to Calgary on Friday.
Sources say the Eskimos, who are last in the league with a 2-8 record, have also talked to former Montreal assistant GM Marcel Desjardins (who was a GM in Hamilton), Roughriders' director of U.S. scouting Joe Womack, onetime Eskimo quarterback Bruce Lemmerman, who has lengthy experience in NFL personnel), onetime CFL GM Bill Quinter, who was a longtime scout with the New Orleans Saints, and current Eskimos head scout Ed Hervey.
Tillman could not be reached for comment.
