The Canadian Football League has fined Hamilton Tiger-Cats offensive lineman Jason Jimenez half his game cheque for his late hit from behind on B.C. Lions defensive end Brent Johnson in a game last Saturday in Vancouver.

Under terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the maximum fine that can be levied against a player is half of his salary for one game. This will amount to approximately $2,500 for Jimenez, who played four years in B.C. and was a onetime teammate of Johnson.

In addition, CFL commissioner Mark Cohon has summoned Jimenez to a face-to-face meeting with him next week to discuss his on-field conduct.
