  • So Henry Burris might have been embarrassed by his performance last week in a loss to B.C., but it doesn't end there.

In what is the latest in the never-ending series of Only In The Canadian Football League moments, there is an image of the Calgary quarterback in a bra posing beside a woman who is not his wife.

Now if you read the story in the Calgary Sun, there is a perfectly good explanation for it. Burris wore the bra as a prank, someone took a picture of it and the next thing you know it is sent by someone Burris knows, but won't reveal, to Saskatchewan.

Burris played off and on in Saskatchewan from 2000-2004, before electing to use free agency to sign with Calgary, with which he began his CFL career in 1997 and continued with to 1999. Then he signed as a free agent with the Roughriders and became the darling of the fans.

When he left for Calgary, the Roughriders fans immediately made him public enemy No. 1. And even though it's been years since his departure, every time he returns as a member of the Stamps he is lustily booed by the Rider Nation.

It's actually quite funny, but this has taken things to a new level.

No doubt it will become an issue of sorts with a back-to-back series against Montreal -- a battle of the top team in the West and the top team in the East -- beginning this Friday in Calgary. We're not sure if this embarrassing photo will affect Burris' play, but it will add some interesting drama leading up to the game.

To be sure, Burris didn't need this publicity, but it just goes to show how a photo, even made in jest, can find itself in the hands of the wrong person.

Burris is known as Smilin' Hank because he always has a grin. Will he be smiling about this? We're sure this picture will become so viral that it will surely test Burris' resolve. And to think prior to this, he had to be worried about opposing players taking vicious shots at him. But this is a shot of a different kind.

Undoubtedly some rival players may use it to taunt Burris, who is known as Good Hank when he plays well and Bad Hank when he doesn't. Last week against B.C., it was Bad Hank. This week it might Bra Hank.
