TW LW Team Our Take
1 1
(12-5-0)
Completely dominated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats with a total team effort after a sloppy effort against B.C. the week before. Quarterback Henry Burris asserted himself as the likely West nominee for the Most Outstanding Player, while the defence shut down one of the better offensive attacks in the league. If they continue like this, they’ll romp in the Grey Cup.

Calgary finishes out the season with two meaningless games, but needs to develop some consistency and correct some things, like coverage on punts.

(12-5-0)
Far better than the embarrassing loss the week before against Hamilton. The return of some key players such as running back Avon Cobourne and receiver Kerry Watkins helped to provide the offence missing against the Ticats. All that said, the Als simply aren’t functioning with the same efficiency as earlier in the season.
3 3
(9-8-0)
Completely outclassed against Calgary after blowing up Montreal the week before. The fact the Cats knew they had clinched second in the East may have allowed for a little let up. Ticats quarterback Kevin Glenn had his worst game of the season. Did missing feature receiver Arland Bruce make that much of a difference? And where was the defence?
4 4
(7-10-0)
The Eskimos are officially a different squad from earlier in the season, with a 5-1 record in the past six games and 5-2 since the hiring of Eric Tillman. Even though quarterback Jared Zabransky looked more like Jared the Subway guy against Winnipeg, the defence did a great job to get the win.
5 7
(7-10-0)
I like the way this team is coming together, particularly with Travis Lulay at the controls. All-purpose player Yonus Davis continues to spark the return game. And how about defensive tackle Aaron Hunt picking off a pass? “He could go all the way.”

Okay, he didn’t but a nice play nonetheless.
6 6
(8-9-0)
Cleo Lemon. Nothing more need be said.
7 5
(9-8-0)
Someone call SaskPower, the Roughriders are powerless. Four consecutive losses and quarterback Darian Durant is officially in a slump. He’s simply making too many turnovers. And what’s with the Riders’ special teams? They can’t defend against runbacks and their return game has been terrible all season.
8 8
(4-13-0)
Things are so bad with the Bombers, head coach Paul LaPolice can’t even find his flag to make a challenge. How a team can have such a hard time converting a third-and-one is hard to believe. One more game and this season mercifully comes to an end for this underachieving team.
