Enjoy.
Edmonton @ Montreal
There was plenty of talk of how Montreal had yet to beat a team with a winning record. Well, they certainly came out and performed. The defense played their best game of the season, not allowing a single touchdown against Rick Ray and company. That's impressive.
It's about time the Montreal defense won a game for the Als this season. Anthony Calvillo and the offense deserved a break.
The Eskimos have had a tough stretch against two good teams on the road and it makes me wonder if the reason for Edmonton's early success this season is because of new offensive coordinator Marcus Crandell's style of offence?
Have the defensive coordinators around the league figured out how to defend Rick Ray and his receivers or is the loss of Fred Stamps the biggest issue?
I think the O-line has definitely struggled the past two weeks. They need to keep Ray clean. I don't know how much more punishment he can take. Ouch!
Calgary @ Saskatchewan
Henry Burris and the rest of his offence were on fire. When Burris has time in the pocket, opposing teams are in big trouble. The Roughriders defense simply had no answer. Although, they did eventually make the score more respectable, but it was definitely a little too late.
It's time to panic in the Queen City!
This team is inconsistent in all aspects of the game right now. You can see the Riders confidence level is at an all-time low.
The one positive they can take away from this game is Hugh Charles and his great performance.
This week the Riders will be facing another team with a 1-6 record... the Argos.
Let's hope they can end this slide, I feel bad for Rider fans... they deserve much better than this.
Toronto @ Hamilton
This game should have been played on Labour day!
Whenever these two teams meet, we expect to see fireworks.
This game showed why the CFL is such a great league. Both QB's played well, there were plenty of lead changes and lots of points from both sides.
My turning point in this game was the missed 20-yard field goal by Prefontaine at the end if the second quarter. As a result of the miss, Hamilton was able to march downfield into range where Justin Medlock kicked a 50-yard field goal. That made it a six-point swing and I can't wait to watch the rematch.
Winnipeg @ B.C.
Swaggerville is in full effect!
I admit that I never expected the Bombers to be first place in the league at this point in the season. They are so much fun to watch as they feed off the energy of their defence. They are simply unbelievable.
The Bombers don't talk about forcing turnovers, they go out there and make it happen!
The ability to rush only four defensive linemen and create such havoc is the biggest reason for their success. It allows their secondary and LB's to sit back and make plays.
The Bombers offense is getting great field position and as a result, it makes it much easier to play on a short field. This team is playing great team football and the biggest stat that proves it is the plus-minus turnover ratio.
I hope they can continue this roll. There is no arguing that the Bombers are making all the other CFL teams take notice.
