A day after being released by the Montreal Alouettes, Luc Mullinder has found a new home.
The Canadian defensive end came to terms on a two-year deal, including an option, with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Tuesday. The 30-year-old Michigan State product was also being courted by the Calgary Stampeders.
Mullinder had played his entire eight-year career in Saskatchewan before being dealt to Montreal for Dallas Baker earlier this month. A cap casualty with the Roughriders, who were also looking for more speed at the receiver position, Mullinder was released by the Alouettes before his $90,000 salary became guaranteed after the ninth game of the season.
Hamilton is still without veteran non-import defensive lineman Matt Kirk, who has been out all year with a foot injury.
Kirk has practiced the last two weeks and is eligible to come off of the nine-game injured list after Labour Day. It is believed the Queen's University product will be cleared to return to the active roster then.
