TORONTO -- Anthony Calvillo's record-breaking performance earned him even more honours Wednesday.

The Alouettes quarterback was named the CFL's offensive player of the week after he broke pro football's all-time passing yards record in Montreal's 29-19 victory Monday over the Toronto Argonauts.

The future Hall of Famer went into the game needing 258 passing yards to eclipse the career total of 72,381 amassed over 23 seasons by Damon Allen.

Calvillo, who was named the top offensive player for the fourth time this season, ended the day with 305 yards for a total of 72,429 and counting.

B.C. Lions kicker Paul McCallum was named as the special teams player of the week after he also made history.

McCallum booted a record 30th-consecutive field goal in Saturday's 33-31 victory over Calgary. He also added the game-winning field goal from 53 yards out.

Montreal defensive end Anwar Stewart took defensive honours after he registered three tackles and two quarterback sacks against Toronto, one of which resulted in a safety.

Meanwhile, Eskimos running back Jerome Messam was named the top Canadian after he rushed 20 times for 118 yards and a touchdown in Edmonton's 17-1 victory over Saskatchewan. He also caught three passes for a career-high 42 yards.
