REGINA -- The Saskatchewan Roughriders released veteran kicker Luca Congi on Tuesday.
Congi, who missed the 2011 season with a knee injury, made 24 of 26 field-goal attempts in 2010.
"We would like to thank Luca for his contributions and leadership both on and off the field," Riders general manager Brendan Taman said in a release. "Unfortunately in this business sometimes tough decisions have to be made but we do wish Luca the best in his future career."
The 28-year-old from Waterloo, Ont., spent six seasons with the Riders.
Also Tuesday, Saskatchewan released defensive back Tamon George.
