TORONTO -- The Toronto Argonauts signed running back Jeff Johnson and cornerback Matt Black to contract extensions Friday.

Johnson's new deal runs through the 2013 season while Black is signed through 2014. Both players are Toronto natives and were eligible to become free agents in February.

Johnson, 34, made five special-teams tackles last season. The 12-year CFL veteran had 11 carries for 23 yards and caught 12 passes for 82 yards.

Black, 26, has played three CFL seasons. He led the team with 15 special-teams tackles and scored his first career touchdown on an 81-yard punt return on July 29 in Edmonton.
