Elimimian drawing interest from NFL teams
B.C. Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian could be heading to the National Football League.
Elimimian has offers from the Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams and Carolina Panthers, according to Sportsnet's Arash Madani.
The Vikings are said to have the upper hand in landing Elimimian. The 2010 Most Outstanding Rookie in the CFL is expected to receive US$35,000 up front if he signs with an NFL team.
Minnesota, who is said to be interested in upgrading their linebackers, already has former B.C. Lions wide receiver Emmanuel Arceneaux on their roster.
The 25-year-old had a brief stint in the NFL when he was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. But the Hawaii product did not make the roster and was released on Sept. 1, 2009.
Elimimian finished the 2011 season with 98 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions.
