Breaking down Henry Burris’s big game

Henry Burris ran in two touchdowns, threw for another two and set a record for pass completions in a game with 45 as the Ottawa Redblacks embarrassed the Montreal Alouettes.

When I ordered up the infographic for this story, Sportsnet’s all-world art department took the numbers, worked their magic and sent back the file. The title? “BURRIS.” All caps. And it seemed fitting.

As you’ve likely heard by now, Henry Burris, the 16-year CFL veteran and Ottawa Redblacks quarterback, had himself a game last night, setting the single-game league record for completions. In doing so, he pushed his team ever closer to its first playoff appearance in just their second season in existence.

But that’s only part of it. Here’s the statistical story of the future Hall of Famer and 2008 Grey Cup MVP’s big game, season and career.
