[blockquote][cite][/cite][/blockquote]As per a Calgary Stampeders press release, it was announced on Monday that Dave Dickenson will be a member of the U.S. College Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018.

Dickenson played four seasons (1992-95) at the University of Montana. In 1995, he won the Walter Payton Award as the top offensive player in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Great Falls, Montana native lead Montana to the FCS National Championship and he threw for 5,676 yards and 51 touchdowns that season.

“On behalf of the entire Stampeders organization, I congratulate Dave for this well-deserved honour,” said Stampeders president and general manager John Hufnagel.

“I am very honoured and excited to be included in the Hall of Fame,” said Dickenson. “We did some special things at Montana. To be able to represent our program, Don Read and the coaches, our school and our city means a lot to me. More than anything though, it means a lot to be able to represent my home state of Montana.”

Dickenson was a first-team all-Big Sky selection and he was a three-time team MVP. The Canadian Football Hall of Famer tossed for 11,080 career passing yards and collected 33 wins at Montana.

Dickenson will be officially inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame alongside nine other players and three coaches on Dec. 4 in New York.

The Stampeders also announced via press release that they have signed receiver Reggie Begelton, offensive linemen Dillon Guy and defensive lineman Mike Rose.

Begelton and Mike Rose are international players while Guy is from Hamilton, Ontario.

All three players were with Calgary last year and finished the 2017 season on their practice roster.

Begelton has played nine games for the Stamps, collecting 22 catches for 304 yards and one touchdown. He had tryouts with the Atlanta Falcons and Oakland Raiders before signing with the Stampeders.

Guy hasn’t played a game for Calgary while Rose has suited up for one game with the red and black.
