WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed Canadian long-snapper Chad Rempel to a two year contract.

Rempel from Sherwood Park, Alta., has appeared in all 36 regular season games and one post-season contest since signing with Winnipeg prior to the start of the 2015 season.

"Without question, one of the most underrated roster spots in football is the position in which Chad excels at," general manager Kyle Walters said in a statement. "He is excellent at his craft and is extremely knowledgeable in regards to special teams. With Chad, we don’t have to think twice about a big piece of our kicking game."

Rempel has played 172 career CFL games with Winnipeg, Toronto, Hamilton and Saskatchewan. The 2017 season will be Rempel’s 13th in the CFL.
