CFL fines four players for hitting offences

TORONTO — Kick-returner Brandon Banks of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats was among four players fined by the CFL on Thursday.

Banks was penalized for a late hit against Tyree Hollins of the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday during Hamilton’s 31-21 victory.

Jason Foster of the B.C. Lions and Eddie Steele of the Edmonton Eskimos were both disciplined for low hits while Jacques Washington of the Ottawa Redblacks was fined for leading with his head on a hit against Jeff Fuller of the Calgary Stampeders.

As per league policy, the amounts of the fines weren’t disclosed.
