CFL players take shots at TFC star Giovinco for BMO comments

Were the Toronto Argonauts playing at BMO Field a factor in Sebastian Giovinco's struggles at home?

Why can’t football players and futbol players all get along?

At a news conference Tuesday, Toronto FC star Sebastian Giovinco suggested the Toronto Argonauts playing at BMO Field in 2016 might have contributed to him not being as productive in home games.

Giovinco, speaking through a translator, inferred that CFL games being played at the stadium this year may have changed pitch conditions, which resulted in him cramping up. The 29-year-old was subbed off in the final two home games of the playoffs, including in the MLS Cup on Saturday.

TFC management has told Giovinco they feel confident they could improve the playing surface for 2017.

When some CFL players caught wind of what the Italian striker said they showed no sympathy on social media.
