Eskimos pull off sweep of CFL’s weekly honours

TORONTO — Quarterback James Franklin, running back/returner Kendial Lawrence and receiver Derel Walker led the Edmonton Eskimos to a sweep of the Shaw CFL top performer of the week honours.

It marks the third time this year a team has swept the league’s weekly awards.

Franklin completed 29-of-38 passes for 335 yards and a touchdown in his first CFL start, a 38-15 home win over the Toronto Argonauts. He also ran for 51 yards and a TD.

Lawrence had a 64-yard punt return for a TD and finished the game with 263 all-purpose yards. He registered 192 yards on 10 returns, seven catches for 52 yards and a 19-yard rushing attempt.

Walker had seven catches for 164 yards and a TD.
