Stampeders sign Ticats’ Hobbs, ex-NFLer Burton

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders have signed international defensive back Arthur Hobbs Jr. and international receiver Stephen Burton.

Hobbs played in 13 games, including 11 starts, with Hamilton last season. He made 32 tackles, two special-teams tackles, two interceptions and one fumble recovery.

Hobbs also appeared in three post-season games for the Ticats, including Hamilton’s Grey Cup loss to Calgary.

Burton played 19 career games over three NFL seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars.

He scored his first professional touchdown on Sept. 16, 2012, as a member of the Vikings. In 19 career NFL games, he has 15 catches for 149 yards and one TD.
