OTTAWA – The Ottawa Redblacks are looking for a new offensive co-ordinator after firing Mike Gibson on Wednesday.

"Mike is a dedicated football man and I’d like to thank him for his efforts this year," Ottawa head coach Rick Campbell said in a statement. "We continue moving toward growing into a winning football team.

"We have some names in mind but we’ll take the time to do our homework before hiring anybody. We want to add a coach that will best help us to win football games."

Ottawa (2-16) struggled offensively in its inaugural campaign. The Redblacks were last overall in scoring (15.4 points per game) and rushing (82.4 yards) and seventh in total yards (300 per game).

Starter Henry Burris, the CFL’s passing leader the last two years with Hamilton, finished fourth this season with 3,728 yards but had more interceptions (14) than touchdowns (11).
