Former CFL offensive lineman Randy Ambrosie will be named the league’s 14th commissioner, reports Jeff Hamilton of The Winnipeg Free Press.
Ambrosie was the runner-up to Jeffrey Orridge in the CFL’s last search for a new commissioner.
The 54-year-old was a member of the 1993 Grey Cup-champion Edmonton Eskimos. Ambrosie spent nine seasons in the league, also suiting up for the Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts.
Orridge announced he would be stepping down from his post in April. He officially remains on the job until the end of June.
