TORONTO — Ricky Ray is back with the Toronto Argonauts.

The Argos removed Ray from the six-game injured list and the veteran quarterback was throwing to receivers at practice Wednesday.

Toronto put Ray on the six-game injured list after he suffered a sprained left knee in its 30-17 home loss to Montreal on July 29.

Logan Kilgore assumed starting duties with Ray sidelined, posting a 1-1 record.

Kilgore led Toronto to a 23-20 win over Ottawa on Aug 6 in his first CFL start but threw five interceptions in last week’s 34-17 home loss to Winnipeg.

Kilgore will be Toronto’s starter Saturday when it hosts the Edmonton Eskimos at BMO Field.

But the Argos won’t play again until Aug. 31 when they host B.C., giving Ray additional time to prepare for a return under centre.
