Roughriders fined for exceeding CFL cap

TORONTO — The Saskatchewan Roughriders were fined by the CFL on Thursday as the lone team to exceed last season’s salary cap.

The Roughriders were above the $4.25-million cap by $26,677, which they will have to pay back to the league.

The salary cap is set to rise to $4.3 million for the upcoming season.
