The Hamilton Tiger-Cats traded defensive end Brandon Boudreaux to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, as first reported by Sportsnet’s Arash Madani.
As part of the deal, the Ticats received a player from the Riders’ negotiation list and the two teams also swapped draft picks.
Boudreaux, 25, has been with the Ticats since 2012. This season, he has four tackles and no sacks. Boudreaux became expendable last week when Hamilton re-signed Justin Hickman, who had spent the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL
With John Chick and Ricky Foley (14 and eight sacks, respectively), the Riders have two of the best defensive ends in the CFL, but were looking to add depth as the race for the playoffs heats up.
The Riders visit the Edmonton Eskimos Friday, while the Ticats visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Saturday in Week 14 action.
