BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Ravens signed quarterback Casey Bramlet on Thursday.

Bramlet played last season for current Ravens offensive co-ordinator Cam Cameron when both were with the Miami Dolphins. The quarterback signed during the off-season with San Diego, but was cut Tuesday.

Bramlet caught a late flight to Baltimore after being claimed on waivers and was expected to play in the Ravens' pre-season finale against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. He was scheduled to relieve rookie starter Joe Flacco.

Flacco was forced into the starting lineup because Troy Smith has a viral illness, and Kyle Boller is nursing a shoulder injury that could keep him sidelined indefinitely.

The Ravens created a roster spot for Bramlet by cutting kicker Piotr Czech.
