SAN DIEGO -- Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Denver because of a jammed right big toe.
Tomlinson was hurt during Sunday's 26-24 loss to Carolina. He returned to practice Friday after sitting out the previous two days.
Coach Norv Turner said Tomlinson took approximately half the practice repetitions.
"I thought there were times he looked tentative and there were times he looked good," Turner said.
Tomlinson was encouraged by how the toe was feeling after practice. He thinks he will be considered probable to play by Sunday.
"Just by the way I felt today, being able to run and cut and stuff," Tomlinson said. "That's why I think so."
Cornerback Antonio Cromartie has a hip injury and was also listed as questionable.
Cromartie deferred to Turner on his playing status, declined to reveal which hip is hurting and didn't want to talk about how much he was able to do during Friday's practice.
"What did the injury report say?" Cromartie asked. "It say limited participation, am I right? There it is."
Cromartie hadn't practised this week until Friday. He said the hip is improving and agreed that his status might not be cleared up until he tests the hip in pre-game warmups.
"More than anything, it's not his movement, it's the pain he's got right now," Turner said. "I think it will feel better as we go through the next two days. He did enough today to show there's a chance but he's still questionable."
Tight end Antonio Gates (toe-hip) and defensive tackle Jamal Williams (knees) were listed as probable. Offensive tackle Marcus McNeill (neck) and centre Nick Hardwick (foot) will both miss their second consecutive games.
