RENTON, Wash. -- Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Trufant has a cracked bone in his left hand, but it won't keep him from playing against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Trufant hurt his hand when he collided with another player while trying to defend against a pass during practice Thursday.
"It's very, very sore," coach Mike Holmgren said. "He has a cast on and we're now trying to evaluate what to put on his hand to protect it. Allow him some comfort, but also allow him to play."
Trufant practised Friday with a cast protecting his injured hand.
"Just a freak accident, no really big collision or nothing like that," Trufant said. "Just ran into a guy, kind of ran into him the wrong way and my fingers just got jammed up."
The Seahawks have had a number of injuries lately. Starting wide receiver Nate Burleson and starting right guard Rob Sims were placed on injured reserve earlier this week with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn pectoral muscle, respectively.
Middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu suffered a knee injury during a pre-season game in San Diego and injured his right thumb against Buffalo last week. He will play this Sunday.
