RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks hired Tim Lewis on Thursday as their defensive backs coach.
Lewis, an NFL assistant for 14 season, will replace Jim Mora, who was promoted to Seattle's head coach this month after Mike Holmgren's contract expired.
Lewis was the defensive backs coach with Carolina for the last two seasons. He has also been the defensive co-ordinator for seven years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants.
Lewis was the 11th overall pick in the 1983 draft by Green Bay. He played four seasons as a defensive back for the Packers before a neck injury cut short his career in 1986.
