BOSTON -- Joey Galloway is looking forward to playing on a team with a stable quarterback situation for a change.
The New England Patriots signed the 37-year-old wide receiver on Thursday, and he said Friday that the chance to play with Tom Brady influenced him to sign. He also visited the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills after being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Galloway estimated that 23 quarterbacks have thrown him passes in a 14-season career that includes stops in Seattle and Dallas.
He also said his foot is fine after an injury limited him to nine games last season.
In 185 games, Galloway has caught 682 passes for 10,710 yards and 77 touchdowns. His 15.7 yards per reception is the highest average among active players with at least 300 catches.
