Friday was all about Roger Goodell and his annual state of the league address. Now the day before, NFLPA president DeMaurice Smith was asked on a scale of 1 to 10 what he thought the odds would be that the players will be locked out in 2011. He said a 14! So Friday Goodell had a chance to respond.

Goodell is as slick as they come and his comments proved it. "We will have an agreement. It's just a matter of when, but talking options like work stoppages is not getting us there." So a few days after the end of the season the league and the union will get back to the bargaining table to try and hammer out a new deal.

Bernard Berrian stiffed us Friday. His handlers said he was "sick". From what hear the only thing that is sick are the massive players-only VIP parties going down in South Beach. We didn't care because we were still able to get our work down. Friday night we checked out the Flames and Panthers game in Sunrise. Not only was it Jarome Iginla's 1,000th game, there were also a ton of Flames fans down on hand at the Bank Atlantic Center. They were all wearing Flames gear and holding up signs in honour of their man Iggie. The poor Panthers could only manage 13 shots on goal and lost 2-1.

Saturday I witnessed one of the absolute craziest scenes that has taken place at a large sporting event. It was so busy in South Beach Saturday afternoon that driving from one block to an other literally took 45 minutes. I was convinced that every car in Florida is jammed inside a 10 block radius of South Beach. And when I say cars, I do mean CARS.

    Maserati

    Lamborghini

    Porsche

    Ferrari

    Aston Martin

    Bentley

    Buick

    Lotus

    Rolls Royce

    Pimped out Chevy Suburbans

    Audi R8 super sports car

A custom Bentley coupe in baby blue

    Escalades by the dozen

Each one more pimped out than the next. I have never seen more pimped out high-end super cars in a concentrated area in my life. I saw a stretch Chrysler 300 limo. My favourite was the incredibly pimped out H2 Hummer with 28 inch chrome rims and a chopped back.

Trust me, all of South Florida has been over run with Playa's and Saints fans. The Who Dat? Nation has taken over South Florida. New Orleans must be a ghost town because it seems everyone from the Crescent city has made a pilgrimage to South Florida to attend Super Bowl 44.

In the end, it took me, Cory and Brian three hours to drive 22 kilometers. After all of that we ended up taping a total of 10 minutes of sports television. Hey, we do what we do.

South Beach was so out of hand that at 6 pm, I witnessed two hot chicks necking on the roof of a Mercedes Benz. I can only imagine what will be going around 2am. Sean Payton has issued an 11 pm curfew for the Saints. Considering what kind of debauchery that is going on in South Beach right now, that is a very good idea.

Assuming none of the Saints or Colts players get arrested Saturday night, we should be in for an amazing game Sunday at Super Bowl 44.
