ESPN's McShay: QB a reach in 2nd round
March 19, 2010 | Source: Charlotte Observer
The Carolina Panthers would be reaching to draft a quarterback with their first pick in the upcoming NFL draft, which falls in the middle of the second round, according to ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay.
Speaking today on a national conference call with reporters, McShay said after the top two quarterback prospects, Oklahoma's Sam Bradford and Notre Dame's JImmy Clausen, who are both projected first-round picks, he doesn't have another player at the position with a second-round grade.
If the Panthers were to pick a quarterback in the second round, McShay said it likely would be Texas' Colt McCoy or Florida's Tim Tebow, but that he ranks both of them no higher than the third round.
